Breaking News: Transfer rumours are “rubbish”.
You know all those transfer rumours you’ve been reading, like this round-up we compiled earlier, well they’re all “rubbish”, apparently.
The normally shy and reserved Louis van Gaal broke the news at a Manchester United press conference yesterday, telling the room of journalists that those transfer articles they write are essentially not worth the paper they’re printed on.
“There is so much in the papers but it is not true,” the Dutchman said, when asked about links with Edinson Cavani, Robert Lewandowski and Sergio Ramos, before singling out one particular journalist.
“He is writing always rubbish, and then it is true. In the media it is true. No, it is not true.”
However, the United manager also didn’t deny that he’s about to sign Cavani, Lewandowski and Ramos.
Which we can take as a clear sign that Van Gaal is about to launch a spectacular swoop for the trio.
