It’s fair to say things aren’t going well for Louis van Gaal at the moment, but this is perhaps an overreaction.
The Manchester United manager watched his team lose 2-1 to Norwich on Saturday – making it six games without a win – and supporters were eager to vent their frustrations.
With fans in uproar at the poor run of results and dreary displays on the pitch, The Sun now claim that Van Gaal has been provided extra security staff to ensure his safety.
The Dutchman can usually handle himself in press conferences, but there are apparently fears at Old Trafford that he could be targeted by angry fans.
That would certainly be taking it a step too far…

Meanwhile, the United owners are said to have already reached out to Jose Mourinho to sound him out on succeeding van Gaal.
