The Manchester United boss is pleased with the defender’s progress but is not setting any return date.
It has been about a month since our last update from United about Shaw, who broke his leg in horrific circumstances, against PSV Eindhoven, in September.
Ahead of United’s Champions League outing with CSKA Moscow this evening, Louis van Gaal wrote about the 20-year-old in his programme notes.
“Luke is progressing well and is doing as well as we could have hoped at this stage,” he revealed.
“We are not putting any timings on his recovery or a return, as it is important we allow nature to take its course.
“Luke is working hard during his recuperation to keep his body in the best possible condition.
“He is receiving plenty of messages of encouragement from supporters, which I know he appreciates.”
