Liverpool dropped more points today, losing 2-1 to league leaders Chelsea. However, there were a couple of moments in the game that were really telling of how the Reds’ season has been going so far.
Liverpool aren’t having the best time of it lately. The Reds have just two wins in their last eight league outings. There were two moments in particular that might explain their awful run of form.
Simon Mingolet had an absolute howler just before the final whistle. What should have been a bog standard clearance turned into a pretty embarrassing mistake. Poor auld Simon won’t want to look at this replay.
Before that, striker Rickie Lambert took a wee bit of a tumble while chasing down a loose ball. All Lambert got for his work ethic was a faceful of turf and a deluge of jeers from the away end.
