The midfielder has been left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour squad.
Liverpool look set to loose yet another midfielder to the burgeoning Saudi Arabian Premier League.
Earlier this week, news broke that club captain Jordan Henderson had agreed personal terms with Steven Gerrard’s new side Al Ettifaq, in a deal which would see him potentially quadruple his weekly earnings.
Now, his midfield partner Fabinho looks set to depart Merseyside too, with a move to Al Ittihad thought to be at an advanced stage.
With personal terms not an issue given the wealth of resources at the Saudi club’s disposable, Liverpool are reportedly in the final stages of negotiating a £40 million fee for the Brazilian.

Since signing for the Anfield club back in 2018, Fabinho has become Jurgen Klopp’s midfield lynchpin, helping the Reds secure both a Champions League and Premier League title.
Should the move to the Middle East go through, the 29-year-old will link up with former Chelsea and Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, who earlier this window signed with Al Ittihad too.
The pair will also have the opportunity to play alongside Karim Benzema, with the former Real Madrid man the league’s flagship signing of the summer so far.
Coached by the ex Tottenham and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo, there is an undoubted Premier League feel to the side who claimed the Saudi title last season.
Playing in front of over 60,000 people each week at King Abdullah Sports City stadium in the northern city of Jeddah, Fabinho and co will still be under pressure to perform despite the step down in competition.
