Players are never going to admit that they’d want a fellow professional sidelined so that an easier game would be in the offing.

But we bet that Liverpool players aren’t exactly giving Sergio Aguero advice on how to rush back from injury, either.

The Manchester City striker has been out of action for a month after injuring his hamstring on international duty with Argentina but he has revealed when he expects to be able to return to the field.

And it doesn’t make for relieving reading for Reds supporters.

“I don’t think I’m too far away now,” Aguero told MCFC.com. “Physically, I feel good and I’ve kept as fit as I can during my lay-off.”

“I still need to work hard for another week and if not this week, then maybe next, I hope to start training with the rest of the lads and so my target is Liverpool.

“I’ll take things slowly and not rush into anything, but I’m not far away.”
