Well, that escalated quickly.
Whoever runs LA Galaxy’s Twitter account really earned their crust last night.
The club are feeling pretty aggrieved following the controversial sending off of Jelle Van Damme during a recent loss to Portland Timbers. To show the world how ridiculous the dismissal is, they produced an astounding meme showcasing the ‘fouls’ on Diego Chara and David Guzman that led to the red card being flashed by the referee.
Words couldn’t possibly do it justice, so here it is, in all its glory.

MLS franchises may be notoriously awful at engaging in football b*nter, but everyone should be in agreement that the meme was a solid effort.
A lot of people enjoyed it, namely USWNT forward Alex Morgan.
this is so savage. Honestly the hardest ive laughed/most I've cringed all week.

Well, that is everyone except the butt of the joke. Portland Timbers weren’t too enthralled with the call-out and responded with a shot at Galaxy’s attendance figures and a declaration that they too have employees who can edit video.
So there!
if you can only put fans in 60% of your seats a cute meme is one way to get attention. We have video guys, too. Stay tuned…

Just when you thought the whole situation couldn’t get any more American, the Twitter beef peak America when a 6 ft 4 lion entered the fray.
Bailey, the official mascot of NHL franchise LA Kings, decided to defend his home turf with a Geography burn that’s too cringe-worthy for words.
Is this Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon? #SeattleSuburb @TimbersFC @LAGalaxy
