Juan Mata reveals Manchester United player’s exit before the club does

Farewell Anderson

Robert Redmond

Juan Mata has revealed the departure of a Manchester United player, before the club officially confirmed the deal.

Writing on his blog, the Spaniard wished Anderson well on his return to Brazil, however, there is no official confirmation from Old Trafford regarding any transfer deal for the midfielder.

‘I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil,’ Mata said, ‘All the best, my friend.’

Anderson has been linked with a move to Internacional, based in his hometown of Porte Allegre, but as the transfer has yet to be confirmed by either club involved, the deal could be in the balance.

B81FnI6CEAAH3ipAnderson joined United in 2007 from Porto and has won four Premier League titles, a Champions League, two League Cups and the FIFA Club World Cup, despite only starting 70 league games.

The midfielder is not in manager Louis van Gaal’s plans and failed to even make the bench for the team’s fixture with League Two side Cambridge United.

It could be that United actually forgot the player was still hanging around.
