This would be a big move for the youngster.

Jose Mourinho looks set to sign Republic of Ireland u19 star Kevin Zefi from Inter Milan, and bring the youngster to fellow Serie A club Roma.

The 18-year-old has grabbed the attention of Irish fans from a young age particularly when he made the unusual move to go from Shamrock rovers, to Italian giants Inter Milan.

Although the young attacker has been impressing for both the u18 and u21 Inter teams, there has been rumours for some time that he was looking a move away from the club.

Many assumed that he would be aiming to leave Italy, and maybe ply his trade in England as he attempts to make it as a professional footballer, however, it looks like he has made this country his home for the time being.

Calcio Mercato have reported that Mourinho is looking to sign the Irishman for Roma, and are reportedly willing to give him a three-year contract. Inter would not receive a fee for any transfer that may occur, but they will get a percentage of any future transfer fee.

Still to make a senior appearance for his country, the teenage has been capped up to u19 level, and will be hoping that this next move will accelerate his career further.

Ireland are without a manager at the moment with Stephen Kenny leaving his post after seeing out the end of his contract during the Euro 2024 qualifiers, but whoever comes in as his replacement will be looking to the youth teams to try and bolster the squad.

With Evan Ferguson already established as the main man up front, despite only being a teenager himself, the new Ireland boss will want to add to that attacking prowess, and if things work out with Zefi and Roma, then he could be the perfect man partner the Brighton star.
