And so the circus continues.

Newcastle United fans might want to avoid the managers’ notes today as John Carver is putting it on them to give his side something to play for. Not on his side to give the fans something to cheer for.

After eight straight losses, the Magpies boss has been hitting out at players, he’s been rumoured to have lost his job but he has sorted it all out with 34 little words.

And not even one of them was ‘sorry’.

Instead, Carver has come out and said the time for talking was over – he really should’ve ended it there.

We have to start delivering on the pitch.

Why did no-one else think of that? It’s just a shame it took them until there was just three games left to realise that.

Sunderland’s victory leaves Newcastle just a point from the relegation zone and Tony Pulis’ West Brom aren’t exactly going to come and play open football at St. James’ Park.
