Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
As you will be aware, Chevrolet are Manchester United’s main sponsors. Sure the club boast everything from official tyre partners (Apollo Tyres) to global noodle sponsors (Nissin Foods), but it is the motor company that pay top dollar to sit proudly on the player’s chests.
Unfortunately the cost of such multi-million pound investment is that you’ve got to appease your sponsors by carrying out unedifying acts of promotion. These usually take the form of cheesy adverts or awkward live presentations. But this? This is next level shit.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the ‘dab’ is a dance move that originated in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. It’s permeated all areas of modern youth culture, including football, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard using it to celebrate goals.
The latter features in this achingly cringeworthy ‘Dab University’ tutorial, courtesy of Chevrolet. In it, he teaches embarrassed looking teammates Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson how to dab correctly. He seems to enjoy, they very much don’t.
They’ve got moves on the pitch, but do they have the dab skills to graduate #DabUniversity w. #mufc’s #JesseLingard?https://t.co/oqQ4DmZ7gm

Neither it seems do the embarrassed public, who responded to the video was sheer revulsion. It’s safe to say that this particular promotion may have backfired a tad…

Step 1: GET IN THE BIN. There's no Step 2, just stay in the bin.
