Jamie Carragher makes blunt point in Jaden Sancho and Antony comparison

“Antony has done more in six months than Sancho has in two years.”

Jamie Carragher has made a blunt but valid point when he took to Twitter to express his views on the treatment of Antony compared to Jaden Sancho.

Since Antony joined Manchester United in the summer, he has come under a lot of criticism for some poor performances and lack of consistency.

However, the Brazilian has stepped up his game in recent months, showing some of his skillset that made Erik ten Hag want to sign him in the first place.

In comparison to this, Sancho has been at the club for two years,  cost the club a lot of money, and has also been underperforming for his team.

There was a lot of hope that the young Englishman would be central to the attack at Old Trafford but with just 10 goals over the two seasons, it has been rather disappointing.

Carragher makes the point that the volume and extent of scrutiny fired at Antony is much more extreme than what Sancho receives.

“Antony has done more in six months than Sancho has in two years. Yet Antony gets plenty of criticism & Sancho gets very little.”

The former Ajax winger has had some memorable moments in his short career as a Red Devil, most notably his winner against Barcelona in what was a very special night for the United faithful.

The Englishman has struggled to adapt to this level however, and even took a break in the Netherlands this season to get himself right before returning to the squad.

The former Dortmund star has even lost his place in the England panel since making the move to the Premier League, so both his club and country will be hoping that he can rediscover some form very soon.
