It’s safe to say Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be moving to Manchester City any time soon

Not about the money

Patrick McCarry

Manchester United fans can continue to pine, safe in the knowledge that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be showing up in a light blue shirt in the coming seasons.

The Portuguese star admits United is ‘not the same’ as the side he left in 2009 but, in a BT Sport interview, he did not rule out a return to his old club.

Moving to cross-town rivals City, however, is not an option.

“You think the money is going [to] change my mind now, at 30 years old?,” Ronaldo incredulously asked.

“I don’t think so. I think this is not going to be the problem.

“If you speak about the money I will go to Qatar. Maybe they probably have more money than Manchester City. But it’s not about the money, it’s about the passion.”
