You’re probably well aware that this time of year brings a wealth of transfer rumours.
Some are real, some are fake. But it’s easy to tell which are which. Or so we thought.
Now, there are inevitably going to be a few players on the move this January who we’d never heard of beforehand. Take Arsenal new-boy Cohen Bramall, for instance.

You’re also probably familiar with the ‘Yer Da Sells Avon’ meme.
But even if you’re not, surely the mention of a Turkish midfielder called Yerdss Selzavon would raise a few eyebrows, even in a post-Bramall world.
Well, apparently not. Was the rogue ‘s’ enough to throw people off the scent?
Twitter user ffsAberdeen has provided a screenshot claiming Sky Sports ran with his fake rumour, which claimed the mythical Selzavon was on his way to the Dons.

The rumour is no longer on the transfer blog, but it has been mentioned widely on social media.
It follows a similar attempt from a fake Southampton account – you’d think people might know what to expect by now.
