Markovic is almost universally viewed as no more than a monumental waste of money by Liverpool supporters as the Serbia international has flattered to deceive since moving to Anfield for £20 million in 2014.
The winger has made a grand total of 34 appearances for the Reds in that time and has just about scored more Liverpool goals (3) than he's had loan deals (2) in those three years
It goes without saying that the 22-year-old's career on Merseyside looks dead in the water but he could get the chance for some much-needed first team football if, as reports suggest, he moves to Hull until the end of the season.
The Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be happy to sign off on Markovic joining Hull on a temporary deal amid talk that the player's loan spell at Sporting Lisbon is set to be cut short.
It's not likely that the deal will go through in time for Markovic to be available for Hull in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final against Manchester United but he could be in place for the Tigers' next Premier League fixture, which also comes against the Red Devils.Explore more on these topics:
