Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson has said he will "respect" the wishes of club managers Alan Reynolds and Stephen Bradley ahead of their hotly contested Dublin derby.
The Icelander named his squad for the Qatar and Canada friendlies on Sunday and has named two Rovers players, Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan, while calling up Bohs captain, Dawson Devoy.
Rovers midfielder Matt Healy has also been included in a shortlist of players on standby.
Due to the importance of these three players to their respective clubs, this could lead to the postponement of the final Dublin derby at Dalymount Park on May 25th, three days before Ireland face Qatar in the Aviva Stadium.
Hallgrimsson said: “There are games on the Monday and the Friday. But we've called them up in the squad.
“I've already talked to all the coaches. I told them if they are available we'll take them from the beginning of the camp
“But obviously it's in the hands of the clubs and the coaches, if they want to release them.
“And then probably now there will be some talks if we can postpone, for example, Bohs are playing Shamrock Rovers. That is on the Monday. So that could make it easier for them to decide.
“If they were not available, obviously they should have told us that they would not be available. But now they know they are in the squad.
“So they just have to make a decision on it. And we respect whatever the decision will be."
Hallgrimsson finished by reiterating his preference: “Obviously we would like to have them from day one. I think everybody sees the benefits of spending time with these guys. But that's just how it is".
