A big name is returning to MNF and it’s not Ed Chamberlain.
Sky Sports are set to announce, in the coming days, that Gary Neville will return to his punditry role on Monday Night Football.
The former Manchester United defender stepped away from his TV commitments last season to take up a temporary coaching role with Valencia. Unsatisfactory results saw Neville leave the Spanish club before the season’s end but he remains as an assistant on Roy Hodgson’s England coaching staff.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Neville will be back in place on MNF for the start of 2016/17. The newspaper has Jamie Carragher as a columnist and their story appears to be well sourced.
Football fans will be delighted to see Neville reunited with his former Liverpool rival for the new season.
The pair gained renown for their meticulous research, insightful analysis, cutting views and their amusing back-and-forths.
With former MNF host Chamberlain off to present horse racing coverage for ITV, Sky have drafted in Dave Jones for the new anchor role.
The Premier League fixtures were announced today but no Monday games have been confirmed yet.
