John Terry’s miserable start to the season continues.
The Chelsea captain played every minute of every game as Chelsea won the Premier League title last season, but today was the first time he’s failed to finish consecutive games at the club.
Last week Terry was withdrawn at half-time of his side’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City, and today he got sent-off against West Brom.
Chelsea held on to win 3-2, but, with John Stones linked with a move to the club, questions about the 34 year old’s place in the team are likely to continue.
Just as Terry thought his week couldn’t get any worse, former England captain Gary Lineker landed a cheeky dig on the defender.
Match of the Day presenter Lineker seems to be suggesting that Terry’s career as a starter in the Premier League is winding down.
John Terry could elongate his career if he continues on a part time basis.

Terry had an ally in Phil Neville though, who felt the Chelsea defender shouldn’t have been sent off for what the referee deemed a professional foul on Salomon Rondon.

But the usually shy and reserved Joey Barton begged to differ.
@fizzer18 you mad?

Think ref gets sending off spit on. Rondon would got to the ball had JT not pulled his arm. Red card. Great decision.

For a lot of football fans on Twitter though, and Jamie Carragher, this was inconsequential as Terry’s unusually small shin pads was the main talking point.
John Terry has got the smallest shin pads I've ever seen.

If anyone's struggling to find the shin pads they wore when they played under-8 footy, John Terry has them @Carra23 pic.twitter.com/3pqbUOmQbN
