Neil Warnock is seemingly so cautious about transfer rumours that even when players sign on the dotted line, score in the pre-season and start a Premier League game, he still doesn’t believe the deal is done.
The former Sheffield United, QPR and Leeds manager doesn’t seem to be aware of one of the biggest signings of the summer as he hopes that Christian Benteke gets the shout to start for Aston Villa this weekend.
Warnock, who has been away from the game since losing his job at Crystal Palace last December, was previewing Manchester United’s trip to Villa Park for talkSPORT when he made the hopeful claim.
“The way they are at the moment, I am expecting a dour, horrible game with hardly a chance from Man United, with Man United winning 1-0. I do hope Benteke starts to get like he can do. Tim (Sherwood) has worked really hard getting players in and I want to see the place bouncing.”
Above all else worry about his Fantasy Football team. It’s probably a shambles.
