It can’t just be Alan Pardew, surely?
PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye presumably could have moved to a host of clubs when he expressed a desire to leave Paris, but he has ended up reuniting with his old manager at Crystal Palace for just £13m.
Cabaye was a creative force during his time with Newcastle and Pardew must have given him the hard sell to get the Frenchman to join his fiefdom at Palace. Unsurprisingly, most football fans just couldn’t understand why Cabaye chose that particular Premier League club.
Sure, he is probably on a massive wage but that is hardly a unique selling point for Pardew’s side.

Cabaye is going to be up there with signing of the season. How no one else has gone for him is incredible

At least one fan suggested that Cabaye’s underwhelming stint at PSG could be the reason Palace were able to secure him for a relatively small fee.

Regardless of his motive behind reuniting with Pardew, if Cabaye can recapture the form he showed at Newcastle, he’ll be an exceptional addition for Palace. No doubt this is how Pardew celebrated when he heard it was a done deal.
