This week we’re tipping a player who’s been awful in his recent games, a striker returning to his old team and Manchester United’s in-form, all action midfielder.
Oh, and we’d strongly advise you to sell Vincent Kompany
Three players to sign
Alberto Moreno
Fixture: Liverpool v Newcastle
Price: 5.3m
Selected by: 6.3%
After two awful performances in his last two games, you’re probably thinking it doesn’t seem like a wise decision to put Alberto Moreno in your team. Well, you’d be wrong (we hope).
Firstly, Newcastle are the worst team in the Premier League at the moment. They may not get relegated, but they’ve bottom of the form table and have lost four of their last six away games. So, while Moreno was atrocious against Manchester United and Arsenal, he’s not going to be tested to anywhere near the same extent.
A clean sheet looks highly likely and Moreno’s attacking capabilities give rise to a potential goal or assist. Moreno also looks a good bet for upcoming games, as, after Monday’s visit of Newcastle, Liverpool face West Brom, Hull and QPR.
Fixture: QPR v Chelsea
Price: 7.1m
Selected by: 2.7%
Diego Costa is out for a month, and, unless you’re the player, his manager or a Chelsea fan, that’s good news. It means there’s a (very slight) chance the team may slip up in their chase for the Premier League title, but the good news is that Loic Remy will finally get a run in the team.
The French striker has spent the overwhelming majority of the season as understudy to Costa, but could thrive now he’s got a shot leading the line. Remy has two goals in his last two games, and faces his former team QPR on Sunday, the side who’ve conceded the most goals this season.
Chelsea face Manchester United and Arsenal in the game’s following this weekend, but Remy, who’s relatively cheap for a striker and is selected by very few players, looks a great option for Sunday’s game.
Ander Herrera
Fixture: Manchester United v Manchester City
Price: 7.1m
Selected by: 2.7%
Since regaining his place in Manchester United’s first team, Ander Herrera has been excellent, (who would’ve thought good footballers like Juan Mata, Michael Carrick and Herrera could play well together?). The Spaniard scored twice last week against Aston Villa and registered an assist in the previous game against Liverpool. Manchester City are up next, and are badly out of form.
The Premier League champions have lost their last three away games, and haven’t kept a clean sheet away from the Etihad in eight games. Hererra’s arguably United’s most in-form player and showed his eye for goal with two wonderful finishes against Villa.
Considering he’s also selected by so few players and City’s poor form, Herrera looks a good outside bet to do well in Sunday’s game.
Three players to sell
Daryl Janmaat
Fixture: Liverpool v Newcastle
Price: 5.4m
Selected by: 9.8%
One of the few players to have performed consistently well for Newcastle this season, Daryl Janmaat has been a regular member of a healthy number of Fantasy Football teams this season. However, with Newcastle’s season getting worse by the week, and Janmaat a doubt for Monday’s game against Liverpool, it’d be wise to ditch the Dutch defender.
Newcastle look unlikely to get another win this season, never mind a clean sheet.
Vincent Kompany
Fixture: Manchester United v Manchester City
Price: 6.4m
Selected by: 9.1%
Almost one in 10 players have Manchester City’s captain in their team, and we cannot fathom why. Vincent Kompany was an excellent defender, but this season he’s been distinctly poor and particularly so of late. The team are leaking goals away from home, there’s little to suggest they’ll stop that trend on Sunday in the Manchester derby and Kompany is an injury doubt.
He may have won a game against United a few years ago, but these days he’s more likely to cost City the game than win it.
Fixture: Tottenham Hotspur
Price: 6.3m
Selected by: 10.8%
When Nacer Chadli scores points, he tends to score high. The Spurs winger has eight goals and six assists this season, but most of those came before January, and the Belgian has just one goal, and no assists, in his last five games.
