Now go and think about what you’ve done.
Jack Grealish’s decision to go out for a few drinks after his Aston Villa side had been flayed 4-0 continues to have strong repercussions.
The 20-year-old was pictured, and videoed, on a night out at Panacea bar and nightclub, in Manchester, hours after his side’s latest Premier League defeat.
While the former Ireland international’s actions did not appear to be anything other than letting his hair/fringe down, the night out contravened club guidelines.
It was reported, earlier this week, that Grealish was being sent to train with the team’s Under 21s as punishment for the kate-night excursion.
This morning brought further bad news for the attacking midfielder.
Villa coach Remi Garde confirmed that Grealish has been left out of his match-day squad. The Frenchman said his player’s actions were ‘not professional or expected’.
Garde commented “Jack is now training with the U21s. It’s not unusual for a player to ask to stay in the city of the team you have played in.
“English footballers have become more professional but you see young footballers wanting to live life all over, we forget in their brain they are 20.”
