Well, while no-one would dispute both strikers have underperformed this season, this particular alternative team is one based on mentions on social media.
Twitter have released a team of the year based on the most talked about players on thier site. Unsurprisingly Balotelli and Falcao feature, alongside Joey Barton, and star performers such as Manchester United’s David de Gea and Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Cesc Fabregas is the only Chelsea player in the team, while Manchester City pair Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta are in defence
Surprisingly, there’s no place for Everton’s Tony Hibbert.
