The Premier League leads the way for summer transfer fees but the race ain’t over yet.
Liverpool have splashed the most cash on players during the 2015/16 summer transfer window.
Marca has compiled a handy graphic [below] that charts the teams that have outlaid the most money on new signings.
Somewhat surprisingly, given the fact that they finished sixth last season, Liverpool top the charts at €110m. The Reds’ biggest signings have been Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino.
Valencia, who have brought in the likes of Alvaro Negredo and Rodrigo Moreno, are just €1.1m behind Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Atletico Madrid are next, followed by Manchester United. Louis van Gaal has brought in five players this season but his spending spree may not end until he has brought in Barcelona forward Pedro, for a reported €30m, and Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi [€50m release clause but available for approximately €30m].
One thing is for sure, large sums of money are still changing hands.
