A simply astonishing number of Ireland fans applied for tickets for Euro 2016.
Uefa received over 275,000 applications for tickets from Irish fans hoping to be there in the flesh to see Martin O’Neill’s side in France this summer.
With just 32,502 tickets available in total for the group games against Sweden, Belgium and Italy in meant an anxious wait for fans to see if they were successful in the ticket ballot.
On February 3rd Uefa emailed all applicants to tell them that they “plan” to start debiting money from the credit or debit cards at some stage this week.
They’ve waited until the last minute but now money has started disappearing from the bank accounts of thousands of Irish fans and they couldn’t be happier.
Just got the news that I have my tickets to all the Ireland matches in Euro 2016. All the way to the final! #COYBIG

It is not yet believed that email confirmation has been sent to any Ireland fan informing them whether they have been successful or otherwise in their application.
So if you have a look at your bank statement you may have an idea whether or not you are going to France next summer.
If they have then Bon Voyage.
