Watch: Jamie Vardy’s first international goal is a cracker

What a finish

SportsJOE

England’s preparations for Euro 2016 got off to a strong start with a 3-2 win over Germany in Berlin.

The world champions took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez but they could not hold on and were turned over by England.

But Tottenham striker Harry Kane got Roy Hodgson’s men back into the game with a superb finish after a cheeky Cruyff turn.

With England searching for an equaliser, it was substitute Jamie Vardy who found the net with an exquisite flicked finish.

The Leicester striker will be annoyed to have not started the game, but he showed everyone what he can do with one of his first touches of the game.

In added time, Tottenham defender Eric Dier grabbed the winner with a bullet header from a corner.

It will be interesting to see how Wayne Rooney fits into their team when he returns from injury.
