Eden Hazard’s comments about PSG are the last thing Chelsea need ahead of Champions League clash

SportsJOE

Even by his own admission, Eden Hazard’s failure to recapture the kind of form he showed last season has played a part in Chelsea’s poor league position (and the departure of Jose Mourinho).

Any hopes of Guus Hiddink’s side clambering up the table to salvage a top four spot already seem to be dead, meaning the only way Stamford Bridge will host Champions League next season will be if Chelsea manage to pull off ‘a 2012’ and win the thing this season.

Yet again though, their Belgian star isn’t exactly helping matters.

Chelsea v Southampton - Premier League

On top of his stinker of a league season, Hazard has now gone and told  Le Parisien he’d find a switch to Paris Saint-Germain, the club that Chelsea face in the first knock out stage, hard to resist.

“It’s hard to say no to PSG, as with all teams capable of winning the Champions League,” he explained.

Backtracking slightly, Hazard also added that his priority (for now) is trying to win Europe’s premier club competition, and that his future is not of immediate concern.

“Now, PSG are part of this category. And for me, winning the Champions League is the main objective. But for now, I do not dwell on it.”

Although Hazard’s not exactly issuing a full on ‘come and get me’ plea to the petrodollar-backed Parisians, it’s certainly not the kind of thing his manager will want to hear as he tries to steer Chelsea to a second European triumph.
