Transfer this! Transfer that!

More Mats Hummels. More David de Gea. More Isco. You must be counting your blessings.

Manchester United are looking to finally address the glaring shallowness in defensive positions by beating Arsenal to the signature of Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels.

The 25-year-old has been a target for United for seemingly 26 or 27 years now so hopefully next summer will see some progress. (Daily Star)Borussia Dortmund Training And Press Conference - UEFA Champions League

Meanwhile, David de Gea is set to stay at Old Trafford as Real Madrid are said to prefer Spurs’ Hugo Lloris to the young Spaniard.

The United stopper seems quite happy with that as he said yesterday: “The best you can do is pay attention to where you are. I feel very loved by Man United.”

Don’t worry, there should be another story by the weekend linking de Gea to the Bernabeu and we’ll have to change our tune once more. (Daily Express)

Manchester City are considering bringing in Juventus full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner to the Etihad and may be prepared to let Matijia Nastasic go as part of the deal.

Switzerland international Lichtsteiner is some man for a nickname as he’s known as both “Swiss Express” and “Forrest Gump”. We need that calibre of pseudonym in the Premier League methinks. (Manchester Evening News)

Arsenal and Liverpool are set to battle it out with Manchester City for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

Manuel Pellegrini coached the young Spaniard at Malaga which could tip the scales in City’s favour if Isco goes on the move. (Daily Express)

Gus Poyet is looking to bolster Sunderland’s chances of securing their place in the Premier League by continuing their pursuit of Galatasaray forward Bruma to The Stadium of Light.

Kirdemir Marco, agent of the Portuguese who has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo, said: “Sunderland wanted Bruma on loan in January and last summer, Monaco and Everton also wanted to have him on loan. There are a lot of clubs who are attentive to the situation of the player.” (Daily Star)
