Stamp the bone, do the time

Stop what you are doing right now and change your Fantasy Football teams. Diego Costa will be cooling his Spa-zilian heels for the next few weeks after the FA slapped him with a three-game ban for his stamp-fest against Liverpool in the League Cup.

The FA has released this statement on the Chelsea forward: ‘Costa will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after a charge of violent conduct against him was found proven by an Independent Regulatory Commission.

‘[Costa] had denied the charge in relation to an on-field incident involving Liverpool’s Emre Can which occurred in the 12th minute of the League Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, 27 January, 2015. The incident was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.’

The Premier League’s top scorers will now miss league encounters with Manchester City, on Sunday, Everton and Aston Villa.
