Dejan Lovren was forced to take drastic measures after suffering online abuse

Who uses Instagram anyway, Dejan

Robert Redmond

Dejan Lovren’s bad weekend continues.

The defender’s performance in Liverpool’s shock 3-0 loss to West Ham at Anfield yesterday was the stuff of nightmares.

Lovren was badly at fault for the Hammers’ second goal, failing to clear, or control, the ball 20 yards from goal, the Croatian was embarrassingly dispossessed before Mark Noble slotted home.

The 26-year-old, who had been impressive in Liverpool’s opening three games of the season, as part of a defence that didn’t concede a goal, would most likely have wanted to go home and quickly forget his terrible day at work.

However, Lovren’s Instagram account came under siege from disgruntled fans, and the abuse was seemingly so bad, the defender deactivated the account.lovren

While a lot of people on Twitter had a level of sympathy for Lovren, some made the same joke.
