David Moyes has his best night in football for a very long time.
The former ‘Chosen One’ saw his new side Real Sociedad comfortably dispatch Elche 3-0 in tonight’s La Liga fixture. Mexican striker Carlos Vela scored a hat-trick, moving the team into the top half of the division. In Moyes’ first game in charge last Saturday, a 0-0 draw, Sociedad had kept their first league clean sheet since April. Moyes’ side’s first goal tonight came from a cross and headed finish, a tactic Manchester United repeatedly employed, mostly to no avail, under the Scot. However, Real Sociedad seem perfectly capable of following such instructions.
Vela gets the Moyes era underway.
A cool finish for the second.
Vela completes his hat-trick.
