David de Gea has insisted he will not spend his time on the sidelines searching for luxury apartments in Madrid.
The United goalkeeper is due to miss this weekend’s Premier League clash with Arsenal this weekend due to a finger dislocated on international duty. Manchester Evening News had, on Monday, reported that Real Madrid would be open to a Gareth Bale transfer switch to Old Trafford next summer but only if the Spanish goalkeeper was part of the deal.
De Gea has been quoted by Metro today dismissing links of a move to Los Blancos. He said, ‘It’s not the time to think of my future. It’s the moment to think about Manchester, as we are not in a good moment.
‘I’m happy there and feel very loved by the fans. I’m focused on doing well. (Iker) Casillas will be in the national team and at Madrid as long as he wants.’
There was further good news for United supporters today as the club expect four senior players to return for the league encounter with the Gunners. Michael Carrick is expected to feature despite withdrawing from the England squad last week. Radamel Falcao, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans all trained on Monday and this morning and are in contention for starts.
