Darron Gibson has pleaded guilty to a drink driving charge.
The Derry native appeared in South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday having been charged with being over the drink-driving limit on St. Patrick’s Day.
The former Sunderland midfielder – who has since had his contract terminated by the Championship club – is said to have smashed his 4×4 Mercedes into parked cars.

The police were reported to have established at the roadside that he was “under the influence” and, on Tuesday, he arrived at court where he pleaded guilty, according to PA.
