The Spaniard, unlike Guus Hiddink, wasn’t a popular figure amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful.
If he had instructed his team to undertake stretches on the streets of Manchester there would have been uproar.
However, Hiddink has some credit in the bank from his previous spell at the club in 2009, but this is still pretty bizarre.
The Chelsea players, earlier this afternoon, stretched outside their hotel before going for a short walk around Manchester city centre, with club staff watching on.
There are a few awkward looks amongst the players.
