Chelsea’s season has gone from bad to worse after they were beaten at home by Bournemouth.
The Cherries held strong and nicked a possibly offside goal with less than ten minutes remaining in normal time.
Bournemouth had not won any of their previous eight league games, but that’s not the most amazing thing about the newly-promoted team beating the defending champions…
Chelsea lose at home to a promoted club for the first time in 44 matches. Since 1-0 defeat to Charlton in April 2001 #chelsea #cherries

The loss is actually even more stark when examined in light of this wonderful factoid,
Chelsea v Bournemouth – the PL champions have never lost at home to the newly-promoted 2nd tier champions in PL history – 22 games (W18 D4)
