A big six club has made a late swoop to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford.
The England striker has been linked with a move away from Brentford all summer, and has been left out of Thomas Frank's squad for the first two games of the Premier League season.
This was following reports that Toney was on the verge of a move to Saudi Arabia, and earlier today it was reported he had agreed a switch to Al-Ahli.
However, Chelsea have now swooped in with a late bid for the striker, according to Sky Sports.
Sky Sports News' chief reported Kaveh Solhekol says the London side have a "pretty good chance" of being successful in their bid for Toney, who will move for a "reasonable" transfer fee and fit into Chelsea's wage structure.
The 28-year-old has one year left on his Brentford contract and has been linked with a move away all summer.
Throughout the transfer window, Chelsea have reportedly been looking at a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, but it seems they have turned their attention to Toney now.
If successful in their pursuit of him, it would be the latest big name signing for the Stamford Bridge outfit, who have already signed the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Pedro Neto and Joao Felix this summer.
