Casemiro's wife has hit back at the critics following his performance for Manchester United against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The decorated Brazilian midfielder was the subject of mass criticism from fans for his involvement in both of the Reds' opening goals.
As a result, he was then hooked at half-time for debutant Toby Collyer.
Since then, his wife has stuck up for the player with an Instagram post that speaks volumes.
The post, which football journalist Fabrizio Romano shared, has since gone viral.
Another fan rushed to defend the legend on X stating:
"The disrespect Casemiro is getting is unbelievable. People have very short memories and now the media are making him the scapegoat. Yes he made mistakes but he isn’t the only one."
Man United manager Erik ten Hag spoke about Casemiro following the defeat.
"He didn’t leave the stadium at half-time," the Dutch coach said.
"I met him in the dressing room after the game.
"I took him off because we were 2-0 down against an opponent like Liverpool. We had to take risks because we wanted to bounce back and needed players in midfield who can cover the ground.
"He won everything in his career. I am sure he will keep contributing to our team."
