Bray Wanderers must have set new a record for shortest ever managerial posting

That was quick

Patrick McCarry

Nice while it lasted.

We will start with the good news. Bray Wanderers have appointed Maciej Tarnogrodzki as their new first team coach.

Bray made the announcement this morning, stating that their former Under-19 coach will take over the senior side with immediate effect, following the resignation of Alan Matthews.

Tarnogrodzki may have been on the receiving end of the quickest demotion in Irish football history.

Bray sent out an initial statement, shortly before noon today, that announced Tarnogrodzki as their coach. Five minutes later came an updated statement and Tarnogrodzki became caretaker coach.

What a five minutes though.

Tarnogrodzki’s most pressing concern, however, is not his job title. Bray have no points and no goals from their opening five games.

He declared, ‘The plan is very simple… we need to score goals, pick up points and move up the table. We have a very talented, young squad who are fully committed to Bray Wanderers. Results will come, we have no doubt.’
