Derby player bites Joe Allen during brawl in Stoke game

Wayne Farry

Bradley Johnson received a YELLOW CARD for this.

Derby County played away to Stoke City on Wednesday evening in a game win which Sam Clucas opened the scoring for the home side. This match – between the sides sitting sixth and 13th respectively in the Championship – will not be remembered for that goal though.

No, it will be remembered for an utterly batshit moment between two of the midfielders on the pitch.

Those midfielders were Joe Allen of Stoke City and Bradley Johnson of Derby County, who became embroiled in something a kerfuffle in the second half of the game.

The kerfuffle, which was quite bad, occurred after a terrible challenge from Stoke’s Oghenekaro Etebo on Richard Keogh. The Stoke player received a red card for the tackle.

Rather than that being that though, a bit of a brawl broke out amongst the players, with Allen and Johnson eventually squaring up.

Not content with squaring up face to face like a normal human though, Johnson decided to bite Allen like a really fucking weird human, gnawing away at his shoulder and pulling his jersey with his gnarled teeth.

The incident, seen in all of its glory above, has seen Johnson likened to another weird biter, Luis Suarez. It didn’t see him get a red card though, with both he and Allen both receiving the same sentence – a yellow card – for the weirdness that played out.
