Could we be set for another Toure family reunion?
That may well be the case if the bookmakers’ latest odds are anything to go by.
With Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Manchester City this summer expected to prompt a squad overhaul, Yaya Toure is one player who could make way for fresh blood.
Guardiola sold the midfielder to City in 2010 and his inconsistent form this season could inspire the Spaniard to move him on again.
According to Ladbrokes, the Chinese Super League is the likeliest location (2/1) for Toure, who turns 33 in May.
If he decides to stay in the Premier League, though, then a move to Merseyside is the bookmakers’ pick for Toure’s next club with Liverpool 5/1 to sign the Ivory Coast international.
A source close to the midfielder would lead one to believe that he doesn’t want a switch to a club outside of England.
“Yaya and the family are very happy in the UK, they enjoy living here and see no reason to change,” the source told the Daily Mirror.
“Also, Yaya has extended family here including brothers and sisters.”
Now comes the issue about whether or not he can run enough for Jurgen Klopp’s very particular demands.
