This would be some bit of business for the Red Devils…
Manchester United are reportedly locked in talks over the signing of Bayern star Benjamin Pavard as a replacement for Harry Maguire, according to Sky Sports.
Maguire, who was stripped of the United club captaincy earlier this summer by Erik ten Hag, appears to be on the brink of an exit from Old Trafford.
West Ham had made an initial £20 million bid last week, with United said to be demanding double that fee. However, a compromise appears to have been reached with a fee in the region of £30 million agreed.
The deal now hinges over whether or not the English international can agree personal terms with the London side, with a sizeable pay cut from his colossal United wage packet reportedly holding the deal up at present.

Should the deal go through, United will use the funds to secure the services of Bayern Munich’s World Cup-winning defender Benjamin Pavard.
The defender has already been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona this window, and is said to be willing to “fight as hard as possible” to secure a move away from the Bundesliga.
Pavard is allegedly pushing for the move as the 27-year-old is keen on testing himself in the Premier League following seven seasons in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart and Bayern.
The Red Devils reportedly value Pavard at roughly the same transfer fee as Harry Maguire is being sold for, however, Bayern are thought to rate the defender at a significantly higher fee.
