Aston Villa are plotting a sensational move to sign Joao Felix after agreeing to sell record signing Moussa Diaby.
According to The Guardian, Felix, who looks set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, is being targeted by Villa as they prepare for their first Champions League campaign since the 1982-83 season.
The Portugal international spent last season out on loan at Barcelona but it's unclear how much Villa would need to pay to bring him to Villa Park.
Unai Emery has made a raft of forward-thinking signings in recent months including Morgan Rogers and the return of Jaden Philogene.
There's also been reported interest in Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams however he is a prime target for Barcelona.
In order to facilitate any potential move for Felix, Villa have reportedly decided to sell club-record signing Diaby to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad.
Diaby is expected to sign a five-year contract just 12 months after joining from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £55m.
He could also be joined by Manchester City's Ederson as Al Ittihad plot a £50m move.
Villa are also set to confirm the £50m signing of Amadou Onana from Everton.
Onana is the replacement for Douglas Luiz, who left to join Juventus last month in order to comply with profit and sustainability rules.
