We’re still in shock
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher will be trying to argue their way out of this for the rest of their punditry careers. The duo selected their Sky Sports Monday Night Football team of 2014/15 so far and agreed on nine out of 11 players.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool defenders quarrelled over a midfield slot and a central defensive role in their best XI and left it to the public to have their say.
Jose Fonte of Southampton edged out Chelsea’as Gary Cahill but the huge sticking point came when Morgan Schneiderlin steamed past Cesc Fabregas for the final midfield spot. It means Fabregas, a revelation for Chelsea this season and provider of 13 assists, misses out on the arbitrary yet morale-boosting honour of making the MNF selection.

Neville selected Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as his player of the first half of the season while Carragher picked injured Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
