Connor Goldson is on the verge of joining Steven Gerrard’s Rangers squad.
Goldson has been linked with a move to Rangers since the beginning of the transfer window and it’s understood that a medical will take place in the coming days ahead of his switch from Brighton & Hove Albion.
A fee of around £3.5 million was reportedly agreed between the two clubs last week, with official confirmation expected before the weekend.
While it’s not exactly a well-kept secret that the defender is on his way to Ibrox, Brighton’s Anthony Knockaert seemingly confirmed that the deal was as good as done by sending his teammate a farewell message via Instagram.
Since taking over from Graeme Murty, Gerrard has already organised deals for Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy and Ovie Ejaria for his debut season in senior management.
The Daily Star reports that Goldson is a lifelong Liverpool fan and the allure of working under Gerrard, arguably the greatest Reds player of all time, was too thrilling to turn down.
Rangers are set to head to Spain soon for a 10-day training camp and Gerrard wants as many new arrivals as possible in place to get to work ahead of the upcoming campaign.
