There’s one or two surprise names in here.
But it’s difficult to argue against any of these inclusions.
The Premier League season is 10 games old, and football statistics website Whoscored.com have looked at the top performing players thus far.
The best XI of the season features four Arsenal players, two from Leicester and, somewhat surprisingly, Norwich City’s Robbie Brady.
The converted left-back joined the Canaries from relegated Hull City in the summer, for €10 million, and has featured in every game thus far and scored against West Ham in a 2-2 draw.
Whoscored give the player an average rating of 7.5, the highest of any left-back in the division. The stats are compiled according to a number of different factors, such as goals, pass completion rate and tackles won.
Brady’s in good company alongside players such as Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Riyad Mahrez, with the Leicester City winger the highest rated player in the league so far.
Mahrez has a rating of 8.3 out of 10, just ahead of teammate Jamie Vardy with 7.9.
It’ll be interesting to see how many of this team will be there come the end of the season.
