He would join ex-teammate Scott McTominay
Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly reached an agreement with Napoli over a potential January transfer.
The 20-year-old, academy graduate’s future at Old Trafford is shrouded in uncertainty amid concerns about United’s compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Garnacho has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season for the Reds and is the club’s top scorer so far this season with eight goals, but the winger has also fallen out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim and has had to settle for a role as an impact sub.
Speaking about Garnacho, Amorim said: “That is clear. He has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position. He needs to play better inside.
“He improves a lot in the recovering position when he doesn’t have the ball. But doing that, sometimes he’s not in the right place to make transitions like he was in the past. I prefer to defend and then build up with all the team to reach the final third.”
After Amad Diallo leap-frogged the Argentina international in the pecking order, he is said to have grown frustrated and has given the nod to the Serie A side that he is open to a move away from Old Trafford.
