Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini can all feel hard done by after their fantastic seasons didn’t earn them a place in the ultimate five-a-side team of Victor Valdes.
The Barcelona legend signed for Manchester United in January but has yet to figure for Louis van Gaal.
But he has his five-a-side team worked out to a tee and there’s one shock inclusion.
The Spaniard picked himself in goal which we’ll forgive because he can’t get a game for love nor money.
He picks fellow countrymen Juan Mata and Ander Herrera which is also grand because there’s nothing wrong with a bit of patriotism.
Wayne Rooney got the shout up front which you can’t argue with, given that he’s United’s top scorer this season.
The madness comes with Valdes’ decision to play Andreas Pereira, a 19-year-old who most non-United fans will never have heard of.
The Belgium-born, Brazil U20 international was on the radar of a number of high-profile European clubs before signing a deal with the Red Devils that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2018 at the earliest.
All of that’s irrelevant though. We want to know what kind of Valdes dirt that Pereira has that saw him get the shout in this team.
