Rio Ferdinand was asked to come up with a dream team of players with whom he’d played at Manchester United.
Rio Ferdinand left Roy Keane out.
Rio Ferdinand should run for his life.
Of course we’re only joking because Keane likely cares as much about fantasy XIs as he does about the lack of an Alex Ferguson Christmas card on his mantelpiece.
But we still feel that it was a bit of a bizarre choice to leave the legendary United captain out of a dream XI, especially when Rio allowed himself the option of mentioning Carlos Tevez and Ruud van Nistelrooy because of an inability to pick between them, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

“I couldn’t decide between the four strikers!” Ferdinand told Breathesport. “They were all as deadly as they come. Who would you vote for?
“Rooney has turned himself around from the street football player we all saw in his early years, to someone who is seeking out record breaking milestones.
“Vida was the best partner I ever played with. Strong, dedicated and would head brick walls! When he first arrived at United, I couldn’t imagine him becoming the player that he did.
“Nobody could see how he would come through that first six months at the club but, with his sheer determination, he became one of the best centre backs in the world.”
