You’ll never guess who Carl Frampton’s Irish sporting hero is

He's non-boxing hero is a er, unique choice

Robert Redmond

Have you guessed it yet?

Carl Frampton is  taking part in a Q&A on the BBC Sport website today, with Twitter users asked to tweet their questions to the IBF super bantamweight world champion.

Some of the questions included which would he rather see, his beloved Crusaders win the league, or rival Scott Quigg being KO’d, to which he replied: ‘That’s a hard one, but easy as the Crues will win the league and I’ll knock Quigg out too!

Frampton was also asked who’d win a fight in their prime, him or manager and former world champ Barry McGuigan, ‘I can’t answer that yet as I feel I haven’t reached my prime,’ the Belfast boxer replied, ‘but I’d still beat you when I’m past it ;-)’.

And then Frampton was asked who his biggest, non-boxing sporting hero was, and came back with a choice that surprised us. We’d almost completely forgot about this fella.

‘David Healy,’ Frampton answered. ‘Everything he did in a Northern Ireland shirt was unreal’.

Healy did score a hat-trick against Spain and the winner against England for Northern Ireland, so maybe we shouldn’t be too surprised.

Frampton was also asked this question, but has yet to answer.
