After what has seemed like endless speculation, expectation, anticipation and eventual utter disbelief, the ridiculously sublime Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight was finally confirmed last week.
It was the fight that everybody wanted to see, but nobody really expected to happen.
Now, that it’s been confirmed, all roads lead to Las Vegas on August 26.
It’s the best of MMA against the best of boxing. The pound for pound best boxer on the planet for the past 15 years will take on the two-weight UFC champion at boxing.
The build-up for the fight, which is predicted to smash box-office records, as expected, has been nothing short of crazy with the likes of McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh stoking the fire with his callings for an Irish undercard.

Boxing traditionalists have called the fight a non-contest, an unnecessary circus. But you can be guaranteed that they’ll be watching, due to McGregor’s ability to spread hype like wildfire.
